Invention Disclosures: industry interviews, prior art, and pitching

This course helps researchers and tech transfer staff to create invention disclosures by identifying the problem being solved, industry application, and progress of the technology to obtain patent protection, determine market impact and get industry partners and funding.

About This Course

This course encourages researchers and technology transfer officers (TTOs) with necessary knowledge and skills to develop a value proposition based on customer feedback. Following the principles of customer discovery and Filipinnovation Entrepreneurship Corps (FEC) Lean Startup Program of STRIDE, this course allows TTOs to spend time talking to and learning from potential customers. The goal is to identify the inventive step in relation to the value proposition and assess it with the researcher for TRL advancement, successful Invention Disclosure Incentive program (IDI) nominations and favorable IP protection.

In addition, this course will guide the  researchers and TTOs on how to conduct industry interviews, prior art search and pitching their own technology.

Below is the progress sequence of your pitch presentation;

  • Technology Overview
  • Industry Mentor (IM) Interview
  • Value Proposition Canvas (VPC)
